Golf ClubHouse / Gastro Pub Project Page

Golf Clubhouse / GastroPub

The inspiration for this clubhouse/ gastropub design was based on the Golf badge which shows a gold stag on a dark blue background (see image below). The requirement was to design a multifunctional space, that would attract and appeal to a wide and diverse clientele. This was achieved by incorporating banquette seating, flip top tables and stackable chairs.

Before

Below are some before pictures - a dated looking space, which hadn't been updated for years. Taking inspiration from the golf club badge, gold and blue, I focused on creating  a modern, cosy, relaxing, inviting, and flexible space. To do so, I changed the layout to turn the existing "hidden" fireplace into a feature and focal point, adding a stag head above it as well as an amazing TV mirror allowing clients to watch sports during sports events whilst not compromising on the overall design when the TV is off.

I also embraced the existing wall panelling, adding more of it throughout the main dining room and adjacent function room, and painting the existing one to lift it up.

One of the most difficult element to work with was the low ceiling areas, with dated round flush-mount ceiling lights. These had to go!

However, I decided to turn what could have been seen as an awkward ceiling into a feature by painting the ceiling blue with gold edges, and adding some quirky open ceiling lights, creating a pattern on the ceiling, like rays of sunshine when on.

I finished the whole design by injecting some fun and quirky features like the wall of frames, stag art work, stag heads, and stag door knobs.

After...

I really believe that it has completely transformed the space, bringing some more depth to it, and a real "wow" factor.
