The Arkley Golf Clubhouse
An outdated clubhouse transformed into a modern, cosy gastro‑pub style lounge and dining space.
This long‑standing golf clubhouse hadn’t been updated for years and felt dated, flat and underwhelming for members. Taking inspiration from the club badge in deep blue and gold, Elisa Design was asked to create a modern, cosy and flexible space that could work for everyday dining, members’ events and sports viewing—without losing the character of the building.

THE CLUBHOUSE DINING & LOUNGE
Gastro‑Pub Atmosphere with Blue Panelling and Stag Details
The main dining and lounge area was redesigned to feel like a welcoming gastro‑pub rather than a dated club room. Deep blue panelling and tufted banquette seating create a rich backdrop, contrasted with mustard velvet chairs and warm timber tables. Gold‑framed stag heads and quirky stag portraits add character and a subtle nod to the rural setting.
The low ceiling zones, once a challenge, are now a feature: painted in a bold blue with gold edging and fitted with open, geometric ceiling lights that cast a soft pattern when lit. The bar continues the blue‑and‑gold palette, with brass pendants, a timber counter and a striking gold stag above. Large windows and terrace seating connect the interior to the course, giving members a comfortable place to eat, drink and watch play on the greens.
THE EVENT, CONFERENCE & FUNCTION ROOM
Flexible Space for Members’ Events and Private Hire
Adjacent to the main lounge, the function room was designed to be flexible enough for meetings, club events and private celebrations. The blue panelling and stag motifs continue through, tying the space back to the main clubhouse while allowing for different table layouts and seating arrangements.
High tables with upholstered bar stools, gallery walls of vintage golfer and stag artwork, and layered lighting mean the room can shift easily from daytime conference use to evening drinks or dinners. The overall effect is a cohesive suite of spaces that feel characterful and on‑brand, while working hard for the club’s varied needs.
If your clubhouse, bar or hospitality space no longer reflects the experience you want guests to have, a considered redesign can transform both atmosphere and revenue. From golf club lounges and gastro‑pub style dining rooms to flexible function spaces, Elisa Design creates commercial interiors that feel welcoming, on‑brand and commercially smart.
