What began as a beautifully finished but under‑used formal sitting room is now a dedicated games lounge designed for entertaining. The client wanted a relaxed, more masculine space where he could host friends, enjoy a draft beer and play pool—without compromising on style or comfort. Taking cues from the wrap‑around garden and the adjacent blue‑grey room, Elisa Design created an intimate, moody scheme with clever joinery and playful details.

THE GAMES ROOM
Moody Entertaining Space with Bespoke Bar and Pool Table
The existing room looked smart but didn’t suit how the client actually lived. The priority was to centre the space around a full‑size pool table while still allowing comfortable circulation and extra seating. To achieve this, we designed a bespoke bar that hugs the wall, providing storage for glassware and bottles, a perch for guests and a long‑term, built‑in feel—without encroaching on the clearances needed for a good game.
The palette leans into deeper, more atmospheric tones, layered with warm lighting to create a cocooning, club‑like mood. A feature chalkboard adds a playful touch: it serves both as a scoreboard and as a hoop game for anyone waiting their turn. Thoughtful styling, from motorsport art to leather bar stools and classic pool lighting, completes the look. The result is a games room that feels tailored, sociable and distinctly personal to the client.
