The Modern Heritage Home
Blending Hindu heritage with modern elegance across a light-filled living room and spa-inspired bathroom
A living room and bathroom transformation for repeat clients in Tewin, completed in two phases. After the successful living room redesign in 2024, Helen and Manoj returned for a guest bathroom renovation in 2025—a testament to the trust built during the first project. The living room blends Hindu heritage with modern elegance, serving as a space for family moments and social gatherings, especially for watching sports. Bold design choices—grey velvet seating, patterned accent chairs, brass lighting, and abstract artwork—balance modern sophistication with cultural warmth. Durable, child-friendly upholstery and layered lighting create a cosy, adaptable atmosphere. The guest bathroom replaces an outdated 1960s spa-style shower/bath combo with a sleek, contemporary walk-in shower. Calming neutral porcelain tiles, polished chrome fixtures, and a bespoke floor-to-ceiling glass panel create an open, airy, spa-like environment.

MASTER BEDROOM
Blending Heritage with Modern Elegance
The living room demonstrates how cultural warmth and modern sophistication can coexist beautifully. A stunning vaulted ceiling with skylights and black-framed glazing floods the space with natural light, creating an airy, open atmosphere perfect for family gatherings and watching sports. Grey velvet sofas provide durable, child-friendly seating, whilst a patterned armchair in warm tones adds personality and cultural richness. A statement brass chandelier anchors the seating area, complemented by brass table lamps and floor lamps that create layered, cosy lighting. Hindu themed artwork and carefully chosen accessories—including a blue-and-white ginger jar and colourful patterned cushions—add visual interest and reflect the family's heritage. The result is a living room that feels both modern and welcoming, proving that bold design choices and cultural influences can create a space that works hard for family life whilst looking effortlessly elegant.
ENSUITE BATHROOM
From Dated Spa to Contemporary Sanctuary
The guest bathroom transformation replaces an outdated 1960s spa-style shower/bath combo with a sleek, contemporary walk-in shower that feels open, airy, and luxurious. Calming neutral porcelain tiles create visual continuity across walls and floors, enhancing the sense of space, whilst a bespoke floor-to-ceiling glass panel eliminates the enclosed feel of the old bath. The double vanity features elegant reeded detailing and polished chrome taps, topped with a large LED-backlit black-framed mirror that provides flattering illumination. The walk-in shower includes a chrome rainfall head and LED-lit herringbone marble niches—practical storage that doubles as ambient lighting and adds architectural character. A chrome heated towel rail, wall-hung toilet, and carefully curated accessories complete the spa-like atmosphere. The result is a guest bathroom that feels indulgent, spacious, and serene, proving that even compact spaces can deliver big on style and function when outdated features are replaced with thoughtful, contemporary design.
"Audrey did a fantastic job transforming our living room. We are so happy with the final result. She listened to all our ideas and then produced a beautiful design which included sourcing all the furniture, layout, decorating etc. I really enjoyed working with Audrey. She took away all the stress that comes with renovating a house!!.”
